When I was a child, I used to beg my mom to look through her jewelry box. I loved seeing all the sparkling treasures she had collected over her years, and hearing the stories associated with each piece. In time, I added to her jewelry box myself. First with bright plastic beaded necklaces, and later with fine jewelry I designed during my first jewelry store job. My mom wore each piece with equal pride, because what always mattered most was the love and the joy that had gone into selecting or making it for her.

As a jeweler, I certainly get excited over rare and expensive gems and jewelry. I love the weird and unexpected, and a lot of the unique gemstones I've come across are here! But as a mom and a wife, the most meaningful pieces in my jewelry collection will always be the things that symbolize the moments and people I cherish most in the world, and I see it as both a calling and a privilege to help others mark their own sparkling milestones.
